Student Writing Competition - 2013 Winners

Sponsored by the ASIS Academic Programs Council and administered by the ASIS Foundation, the ASIS International Student Writing Competition rewards students who conduct research, engage in thoughtful deliberation, and write an academic paper between 3,000 and 6,000 words on an issue relevant to the security and assets protection profession.

The winners of the 2013 competition, which closed in December, are:

Graduate Awards
  • Peter Connelly, Winner, Webster University

  • Austin Bharadwaja, Honorable Mention, University of Nevada, Reno

Undergraduate Awards
  • Nicholas Tancredi, Winner, Barry University

  • Daniel Irwin, Honorable Mention, John Jay College of Criminal Justice

The undergraduate winner will receive $1,000, and the graduate winner $1,500. Each winner also receives complimentary registration to one of ASIS' annual events - the ASIS International Annual Seminar and Exhibits, ASIS European Conference, Asia/Pacific Conference, or Middle East Conference. Two Honorable Mention award winners receive $500 each.
