Roy Bordes Award for Physical Security

​​​The Roy Bordes Award for Physical Security provides a customized, two-day, locally delivered physical security education program for one chapter. Established in 2009, the award pays the cost of instructors, including travel and accommodations. Event planning and execution are the host chapter's responsibility.


All chapters are eligible, however, preference will be given to developing chapters working to expand their membership and education offerings. Chapters may submit only one application annually. Relatives of ASIS Foundation Board of Trustees are not eligible for the award.

2017 Award Criteria

The chapter must:

  • Provide a detailed plan and budget for hosting the event
  • Support the award by identifying an award champion
  • Demonstrate a commitment to its own expansion, including ascending membership numbers and a strategic plan for continued growth​
  • Have a strong education program including diverse and frequent chapter meetings

Please note: a chapter may only win this award one time.

About the Award

The Foundation Board of Trustees established the Roy Bordes Award for Physical Security in 2009 in order to recognize Bordes’ commitment to ASIS International and to the security profession. Bordes died in early 2008, after a career of more than 30 years in the security profession.​ See past winners
